Although there are many new films being shown at the Dallas Film Festival, one classic will have viewers taking a nostalgic look into the past.  This weekend The Muppet Movie will be shown.  This is the original Jim Henson movie that was released back in 1979, not to be confused by The Muppets, which is being released by Disney this fall.  In the 1979 The Muppet Movie we see the Muppets that will be in the The Muppets and some of the Muppets from Sesame Street.  In The Muppet Movie, while Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear are taking a cross country trip to California they actually offer a ride to Big Bird ,who politely declines because he is trying to get in Public Broadcasting in New York.

Another familiar Muppet will be on screen at the Dallas Film Festival.  Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey will be shown at this year’s Dallas Film Festival   Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey is a documentary about the life of Kevin Clash and his journey to being a puppeteer of one of our favorite Muppets, Elmo.   This is not the first time for an audience to see that film either: it first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
