A young man in the Netherlands, whose parents are separated, sued his father so that he could get the COVID-19 vaccine. According to a report from the Associated Press, the child wanted to visit his grandmother that was currently battling cancer. He wanted to make sure that he would not pass the COVID-19 virus to her, so he wanted to be vaccinated. His mother said that she would be fine if he received the vaccine, but his father, citing some possible short-term and long-term side-effects of the vaccine, denied his son’s request. As a result, the case was taken to court where the judge ruled in favor of the boy and said that he could get the COVID-19 vaccine.
