Several people will soon be charged with scamming couples out of thousands of dollars. At least 6 victims of the scam have been identified. The Associated Press reported that charges will soon be filed by the Oklahoma Attorney General against several people that faked pregnancies with the intention to just defraud families.
One positive is that there is not an actual child involved in this situation. This is an all-around sad story and makes you wonder what could go through anyone’s mind to do something like this to another human being. The potential adoptive parents must have gone through a huge emotional rollercoaster because of this ordeal. The fact that they thought they would soon be parents to a brand new baby and add to that they lost thousands of dollars to the scammers is something that takes a lot of strength to deal with.
