Kinect and Sesame Street are joining forces to create interactive television episodes that use virtual participation from viewers. On the programs characters have been able to ask questions that toddlers and preschoolers reply to and that has been the gist of the interaction, but now there will be episodes that can sense movements of the viewers and have the characters on the show react. This is similar the how Kinect game users interact with their games.

In a video below a Kinect spokesperson describes how the new interactive Sesame Street will work. In this episode Cookie Monster leaves a skateboard on the sidewalk and Super Grover drops the box of coconuts that he is carrying. The video shows a viewer tossing coconuts to Super Grover as he counts them.
