New federal guidelines ask all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves — and to be treated by the health care system — as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon.
Among other things, this means all women between first menstrual period and menopause should take folic acid supplements, refrain from smoking, maintain a healthy weight and keep chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes under control.

A lot of women locate that pregnancy bands are also helpful after childbirth. The bands are often worn to cinch maternity wear that has now become too big. They can also be utilized as tube-like tops, worn beneath other blouses to offer extra support and coverage for the nursing mother. And as a result of the durability of the material, well-cared for pieces may be worn throughout multiple pregnancies, or handed down to other family members. These pieces don’t get stretched out and usually retain their shape; as a result, women of all various phases of pregnancy are likely to discover a use for them.
