During the last 4 years the Smithsonian Institutes exhibit, Jim Henson’s Fantastic World, made several 12-week stops throughout the country. In September 2007 the tour began at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Now its final stop will be in New York at the Museum of the Moving Image.

The Exhibit presents many different creative pieces from the life of Jim Henson. There are sketches, videos and Muppet costumes. You can see some original drawings of Big Bird that in its first phase was not exactly like the Big Bird we know today. There are also costumes of Sesame Street characters Kermit the Frog, Bert and Ernie.
