When parents go away to serve there is a void in the family that children feel. Nothing can fill that gap but there are some programs that aim to make it a little easier for the parents and children. Parents that are about to be deployed can be recorded reading one of several different donated books through the United Through Reading Military’s Program. The books and the DVD of the recording will be given to the military children.
An addition to this program is Operation Record a Story. Operation Record a Story uses recorded story books. Sesame Street: Together at Heart is one of the books that can be selected from.
