Sesame Street is continually to evolve as it reaches a new generation of children that have already embraced technology. Random House has been a publisher of Sesame Street books, included leveled readers. Now Random House has developed some of these traditional books into e-books. Books to become eBooks include the titles: Elmo Says Achoo! , Elmo’s Breakfast Bingo , Get Moving with Grover, Big Bird Says . . . and Baker, Baker, Cookie Maker. Children will be able to read stories about Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and other favorite Sesame Street Muppets. Some of the e-books will also include narration Bob McGrath, who plays Bob on Sesame Street.
Sesame Street has previously launched several other eBooks that available through apps on iPhone, iPad, and iPod. These eBook have been interactive and included audio. Some have allowed readers that allowed readers to read along at their own pace, others have included animations that have allowed to the book to come alive as the children read.
In the new age of technology fueled lives e-books will probably become more of the rule than the exception. Hopefully the interactivity of the books will bring about more of the interest in reading that carry through from preschool years through adulthood. Because we all know that reading will open children to a wealth of knowledge.
