I Love My Hair has become a viral hit, now the creator tells us why he created the song. Joey Mazzarino, head writer for Sesame Street, wrote the song for his daughter. Mazzarino and his wife,Kerry Butler are a Caucasian and their daughter was adopted from Ethiopa. Mazzarino wrote the song to help his daughter feel comfortable with her own hair. On CNN he discussed how he did not know how well popular the show would become with girls and women.
