Tablet accessories, a hugging Elmo, and trains are some of the new Sesame Street toys that children and parents have to look forward to in 2013. This is just from one manufacturer, Hasbro. As you know Elmo is one of the most popular characters for Sesame Street and his toys are just as popular. In previous years we have had dancing Elmos that have done the “Hokey Pokey” or the Chicken Dance, there have been laughing Elmos that have laughed, and there has been Elmos that have done a little bit of rock and roll. A new stuffed hugging Elmo toy is being released at the end of the year that Hasbro says will hug back when it is hugged. Big Hugs Elmo is expected to cost $59.99.
High tech is the name of the game when it comes to today’s preschoolers. Parents know that their little ones love to get on their tablets. Hasbro is releasing a new interactive Sesame Street themed tablet case that works with downloadable apps. This will be called the Sesame Street P.A.L.(Play And Learn) Systems and will be two size cases sold that are intended to work on both Android tablets and iPads. The Sesame Street P.A.L. has a retail price of $39.99.
There is a video below demonstrating the Sesame Street P.A.L. at the Toy Fair that was held February 2013.
Although things have gone a little high tech, each generation of children have always found ways to have fun with toy cars and trains. Elmo Junction will be a toy set that includes train tracks along with a Elmo train. The tracks are said to also be able to turn into a road. This toy will retail for $44.99. There will be optional pieces that go along with Elmo Junction. For a retail price of $16.99 each the Ernie Farm Train and the Cookie Monster Food Train can be purchased separately.
