The FDA advises women that are pregnant to not use accutane.

Accutane (isotretinoin) is a drug approved to treat the most serious form of acne–a type that is painful, permanently disfiguring, and does not respond to other acne treatments. Accutane is very effective, but its use carries significant potential risks, including birth defects and even fetal death.

The FDA also advises against buying accutane over the internet. Taking accutane also known as Isotretinoin should be done under doctor supervision.

Patients taking isotretinoin may experience side effects including bad headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, seizures, stroke, diarrhea, and muscle weakness. Additionally, serious mental health problems, such as depression and suicide, have been reported with isotretinoin use.
