Expect to see more Latino influence on Sesame Street episodes this season. According to the Associated Press, Sesame Street has scheduled an open casting call for a new Latino human character on the show. The specific traits of the character have not been released and the decision on whether the character should be male or female has not yet been decided. Actors of both genders will be able to audition and the individual that best fits the need of the show will be selected.
According the Associated Press article the open casting call will be on Monday, August 20 at Manhattan’s Roseland Ballroom for a recurring character to join the “‘Sesame Street’ family.” Those that come to the casting call should be able to sing and improvise in both English and Spanish, and also have a good sense of humor.
