Sesame Street Comic Book cover for Free Comic Book Day 2013

Sesame Street comics were released by Ape Entertainment on May 1st.   These colorful comics are created for young children.      There was also a free Sesame Street comic book given out on May 4th for Free Comic Book Day.

Free Comic Book Day is annual event that consists of many comic book stores around the globe giving away free comic books created by publishers just for the day.    The Sesame Street comic book was just one of the many other children comic books given out during that day.  Other children comic books included were Tinker Bell, Pipi Long Stocking, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Smurfs, and others.

Beyond Free Comic Book Day, you can purchase other Sesame Street comics.   The first 5 are supposed to form a complete picture of a section of Sesame Street once the front covers are place next to each other.    Each of the comic books is expected to cost $3.99. As would be expected, some children and, even some parents, do not have a lot of experience reading comics.  There is a tutorial on the Ape Entertainment on how to read comics so that everyone can follow the flow of the story.

Comic books are just one of the ways that encourage reading with kids.     Although the Sesame Street comic are  created for you children, it may not appeal to every child.   Even if comics are not your child thing, there are traditional books, and e-books that that viable options that are worth giving a try.
