Fireworks and the American FlagKermit and Miss Piggy joined in entertaining the American people during a 4th of July celebration that aired on PBS.   This was the 34th airing of “A Capitol Fourth”, which aired live on PBS and was hosted by Tom Bergeron.   Tom Bergeron has hosted the event before, and many viewers may recognized him and his magnetic smile from  Dancing with the Stars and America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Bergeron and our Muppet friend were just some of the recognizable stars that joined in the celebration.  Audience members were entertained with many musical performances, which included those played by the National Symphony Orchestra.

Other appearances and performances were done by Frankie Valli, John Williams, Patti Labell, Phillip Phillips,  Jordin Sparks, Michael McDonald, Sara Evans, Kendall Schmidt, Kelli O’Hara, Jack Everly, Choral Arts Society of Washington, The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own”, The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets,  The U.S. Army Presidential Salute Battery,  The Joint Armed Forces Chorus, and the Military Districts of Washington.

Even if you missed the airing of the program, you can still watch clips online at the PBS website.
